Recently, we had the opportunity to transport a 10,000 lbs Tank Skid and 4,200 lbs Fuel System Skid within Texas. Initially, the customer thought they would need two trucks to transport the cargo, but our team suggested a more cost-effective solution using a single truck and trailer.
The type of trailer we used was a Removable Gooseneck (RGN) trailer. This trailer is specifically designed for transporting large, heavy, and tall cargo, such as construction equipment, wind turbine components, and oversized industrial machinery. The removable gooseneck allows for easy loading and unloading of equipment and safe and efficient transportation of oversized items.
The removable gooseneck of the trailer is the front section that attaches to the truck. It can be detached from the trailer and lowered to the ground, allowing cargo to be driven or pulled onto the trailer from the front. Once the cargo is loaded, the gooseneck is raised and reattached to the trailer, creating a secure connection for transportation. The design of the RGN trailer allows for taller freight to be hauled without the need for extra permits or avoiding obstacles like power lines or bridges.
