SUMMARY:
Develops business, retains and/or expands assigned accounts and markets Majestic’s services in the specified territory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generates and develops new business to meet specified goals.
- Maintains and nurtures existing client relationships as determined by management.
- Maintains a required number of high quality calls on a weekly basis and keeps record of business activities to complete sales reports as required.
- Keep accurate records of travel and entertainment expenses.
- Responds to all inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepares and presents sales proposals.
- Plans and manages sales territory including generating new leads via cold calls, networking, research and other means.
- Understands and communicates information regarding company products, services, and policies and procedures to new and existing clients.
- Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of the transportation industry.
- Continually gathers information on local competition and prevalent industry and business climate within the region; communicates information to management and others as needed.
- Negotiates contracts and work agreements.
- Ensures that all required client and internal paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
- Provides timely and accurate reports as required.
- Attends and participates in business/trade events as needed.
- Attends and participates in team strategic sales meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent, one to two years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven track record in outside business to business sales, preferably in the transportation industry.
- Must be a self-starter, proactive and goal oriented.
