In June, we faced an interesting challenge when a 40′ container with oilfield equipment arrived at the Port of Houston via an ocean vessel but couldn’t be transported by road due to its heavy weight of 54,000 lbs. The solution to this problem was to transload the cargo.

Transloading involves transferring cargo from one mode of transportation to another. In this case, the oilfield equipment arrived in a 40ft container at the Port of Houston. However, the combined weight of the container and freight exceeded the capacity for direct transportation to the end user in Midland, TX. Transloading was the most effective approach for this cargo.

We collaborated with a trusted and valued partner who operates a transloading facility near the Port of Houston to facilitate the process. At this facility, the cargo was carefully unloaded from the container and transferred onto a flatbed truck, capable of accommodating the weight and dimensions of the equipment. We ensured a seamless transition from the container to the flatbed truck, allowing for safe and efficient transportation to Midland, TX.

By leveraging our extensive network and partnerships, we provide innovative solutions tailored to the specific requirements of each shipment. In the case of this oilfield equipment, transloading was the key to overcoming logistical challenges and delivering the cargo to its destination efficiently.
