Recently, we had the opportunity to transport two significant loads – an electrical skid and a big green building – from Houston to Mentone, TX. These loads were scheduled with just 1-2 days’ notice before Easter weekend, making availability limited and adding an extra layer of complexity to the job.
One of the challenges we faced was with the big green building, which required a site walk by our team and our partner carrier. The loading area was tight and confined, and the building’s base (floor) was not attached, making securing it to the trailer difficult. But with the expert guidance of Jason Hughes Jr and the help of our carrier, we were able to find a solution and deliver the load safely and on time.
The electrical skid, measuring 29 feet in length, 13 feet in width, and 13 feet in height, weighed 12,300 pounds. The big green building was larger, measuring 34 feet in length, 12 feet in width, and 13.5 feet in size, and weighing 17,000 pounds.
